Mojokerto - Part of the 2020 Population Census (SP2020) stages have been completed in 2020. SP2020 is the first Population Census to use population registration data as a database. This is in order to create One Indonesian Population Data. Today (21/1) at Hotel Borobudur (Jakarta) and broadcast live via Webinar Zoom and Youtube, BPS together with the Ministry of Home Affairs held a joint release of 2020 Population Census Data and 2020 Population Administration Data. Also joined virtually the Governor, Regent , The Mayor, representatives of Ministries / Agencies, and media crews.
Muhammad Hudori, Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, said in his release that this release was carried out for the first time as a form of coordination and collaboration between government agencies in realizing one data starting with one population data. Hudori delivered 271 million people from the registration results in the second semester (December) of 2020. Meanwhile, the achievement of recording electronic ID cards in 2020 has reached 99.11%. Hudori also conveyed an interesting fact, that there are around 17 thousand people with an age range of 100 to 115 years in Indonesia.
The Head of BPS and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs jointly released the SP2020 results and announced that in September 2020 the total population of Indonesia was 270.20 million. "The SP2020 result data and population registration data by the Director General of Dukcapil are expected to complement each other so that they can be used in various fields," said Kecuk. SP2020 admitted Kecuk was running full of challenges amidst the pandemic conditions. Some of the characteristics of the population become inaccessible because the business process goes through many adjustments.
Both Hudori and Kecuk admit that the results of the SP2020 are in line with Adminduk 2020 data, especially at the national level. Meanwhile at the provincial level, the difference in population numbers between the SP2020 results and the Adminduk data is an illustration of the number of residents who have moved, whether for work, school, or other reasons.
Hopefully, with the joint release of population data between BPS and the Ministry of Home Affairs, policies can be formulated and adjusted as optimally as possible to improve the welfare of society towards advanced Indonesia.
